S. Somanath, the chairmain of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), revealed he was diagnosed with cancer the same day they launched the Aditya L1 solar mission which sent a probe into space to study the sun. "After the launch, I underwent further tests in Chennai, confirming the presence of a cancerous growth in my large intestine. Following this diagnosis, I underwent surgery and chemotherapy," he said. He continued his duties after spending four days in the hospital, and continued to work during chemo.
