Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen revealed recently he was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years ago. The diagnosis came right before production was to start on his film Blitz causing the start of filming to be pushed two-weeks. McQueen did work answering emails and other prep from his hospital bed and from home following surgery. When he showed up on set two weeks later, he chose not to disclose to the over 200 person crew. His immediate family knew, "And that was it. I really just wanted to get on with the job. And that’s kind of like who I am. I’m a ‘get on with it’ kind of person."
