Hannah Brock - July 2023
After Josh White's appendix ruptured, doctors discovered appendiceal cancer that had affected other parts of his abdomen. While doctors have run tests for month to figure out what was happening, White continued to work at the Odessa Fire Rescue as a paramedic, as well as teaching at Odessa College.
"(He) would do anything for anybody," his wife said. "I mean even in the middle of all this he would stop what he’s doing to help somebody out."
He now requires a specific chemotherapy that is only offered on the other side of the state in Houston, which will require him to miss two to four months of work.
"I just want to be back to normal," White said. "I just want to be out riding in an ambulance, riding in a firetruck (and) helping people. Just doing what I’ve wanted to do my whole life, really"
