Trends Desk - April 2017
Though her name is not shared in the article, the woman featured, a two-time cancer survivor, feels familiar. Her story is one of perseverance and hope. When she was just six years old, her father passed away from cancer. As an adult, she then found herself, with a six-year-old, diagnosed with cancer. She refused to give up her fight.
Though she inevitably experienced the emotional turbulence that a cancer diagnosis brings, she worked hard to not let it show. As she underwent her chemo sessions every 15 days, she states she made it a point to never stop working, she didn't want cancer to get the better of me.
She claims she owes it all to her self-motivation and not giving into the cancer. Though she would break down, she says she would yank herself out of it. She states, "if my experience taught me anything, it's that you can either allow a negative situation to get the better out of your, or look it in the eye, pick yourself up and beat it with positivity."
