ITV Report - March 2017
Just one year ago, chef Oliver Doyle was in intensive care following surgery to remove a rare tumor. Now, Doyle is preparing to open the third branch of his wildly successful pie shop.
Amidst the opening of his second shop, he visited a new doctor who reexamined his hypertension diagnosis and recognized something very wrong. He discovered a very large tumor in his adrenal gland tissue. Given a poor prognosis, Doyle and his wife Lindsay Meckie, feared the worst. Surgery, complications, and an induced coma followed. However, Doyle was not going to give up. He recalls, "I was adamant I wanted to get home and be getting back to work. I just cracked on and every day did a little bit of a walk and kept eating good food."
Doyle returned to work after just two months off. Hes now looking forward to his future, including the opening of their new store.
