Kristen Hampton - February 2017
Matt Sellers was greeted with open arms and huge hugs upon his return to work following a battle with a rare form of T-cell lymphoma. Sellers was diagnosed five years ago and told he had about a 30% chance of survival. However, this past October, Sellers doctor told him he was in full remission and could be released from his care with zero restrictions.
Sellers' first thought was to work and the job and coworkers he loved and missed. Immediately upon his return, he made sure to thank his 'brothers' and 'sisters' at the firehouse. "That's the biggest thing, is thank you. For everything that they have done. That's what pulls you through and keeps you going and I'm indebted to them forever," Sellers says with a big smile.
