Jack Dixon - January 2017
Top choreographer and international dance star, Thomas Michael Voss, is determined to not let cancer get in the way of his work. Voss had been preparing for a ground-breaking performance at the Resolution dance festival when he was diagnosed with plasmablastic lymphoma. Midway through his chemotherapy treatments, Voss is now getting back to work.
“Some days I can forget that I’m ill and others I wake up and feel unable to get out of bed,” he added. “But I am trying to keep a normal life as much as possible. My main goal is my work – I do not want to have that interfered with. I am determined to make this happen.”
He adds that the show has helped him to avoid becoming depressed and stagnant, and helps keep his mind off cancer.
The performance is due to take place February 1st and will confront stereotypes around disability and masculinity.
