Veteran ESPN analyst Rod Gilmore revealed that he has multiple myeloma, and has decided to use this as a platform to give fans medical advice. In an open letter, Gilmore expresses that he plans to be at work this football season, and takes the time to warn viewers about their own health.

In his note he states, "I feel great and my prognosis is good", with ESPN President John Skipper adding that Gilmore is a professional who plans to take on the battle with hope and optimism.
