Alan Walden, currently running as the Republican nominee for Mayor of Baltimore, has announced to his supports via email, that he has been diagnosed with a treatable form of bladder cancer. Following surgery to remove his bladder, doctors believe no further treatment will be necessary.
Though Walden recognizes he will need to take a month off of the campaign trail to recover from surgery, he assures his supporters it will not prevent him from being their next mayor, "I share with my beloved Baltimore in knowing that a momentary setback will not define who we are meant to be."
