In the recently released documentary, Miss Sharon Jones!, Barbara Kopple tells the story of the strength and energy of the indefatigable singer, Sharon Jones. Shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and beginning chemo in late 2013, Jones rejoined her band on the road with seemingly no end in sight for her career.

The film follows her journey as she tours following treatment, showcasing her resilience, hopefulness and the eccentricity she's known and loved for. Though Jones is again undergoing chemo for cancer in her stomach, lungs, and liver, she's touring with Hall & Oates and showing no signs of slowing down. Jones says, "I'm not ready to give up yet, I get up on the stage and the pains seem to go away for a while."
