After finding out he was cancer free, Tashawn Manning walked out of the building with an unfading smile. Manning was diagnosed with Acute Proyelocytic Leukemia during Thanksgiving of 2015. Treatment began immediately, which included daily hospital visits.
Manning stayed in touch with his coaches and team during his treatments. His experience has been compared to that of Shon Coleman, who also battled leukemia and went on to become an All-SEC offensive lineman and third-round pick in the NFL draft. Manning says, "It's very inspiring knowing that somebody went through the same thing I went through and that I could follow straight in his footsteps and maybe do better."
