After spending years treating breast cancer patients, nurse Mary Raphael was forced to see the disease through a patient's eyes when she herself was diagnosed and receiving treatment.Going from the treating to the treated, was a major perspective change.

Now, six years in remission and back to working at the job she loved, Mary says she won't let the fear of her cancer returning stop her from living her life and doing the work she is passionate about. Mary states, "I know lots of people might not have wanted to continue to work in breast cancer after being diagnosed with the disease but I now have a much better understanding of what my patients go through."
