When Darven Norris was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer shortly after he was hired at a start up, he knew the road would not be easy. Norris was let go shortly thereafter due to the company not wanting to absorb increased insurance premiums. Feeling at a loss, Cancer Support Community, North Texas stepped in to help.

Jackeline Castillo is a resource specialist for Cancer Support Community, North Texas, and was directed to Norris through his nurse practitioner. Castillo helps patients by providing them information on and connection to both community and national resources that can provide the appropriate support, be it financial or emotional.
