Despite being in the middle of radiation treatment, Clear Falls coach, Lyndsay Hodges, continues to coach her volleyball team. Following chemotherapy, a mastectomy and an unexpected lymph node removal surgery, Hodges couldn't wait to get back to the court with her team.
Though tired and in pain, Hodges often found the bed rest boring. This boredom further fueled her drive to return to work. She recalls, "Everybody has told me I need to stop thinking about volleyball, but I say it is just the opposite, volleyball is what keeps me strong." Though she recognizes that her stamina and energy are not what they once were, she is prepared to accept and adjust to her new normal.
