Cecilia Delfino, a public servant with Global Affairs Canada, shares her story with CBC explaining that since her return to work following cancer treatment, she has not been paid. Two years ago, when Delfino was diagnosed with cancer, everything changed. She says that the two year aggressive treatment for breast cancer transformed her into a new person.
Going from cancer patient to survivor, when Delfino felt well enough, she returned to work, expecting a few challenges but never expecting the administrative nightmare she faced. Between HR missing her information, to miscommunications and management refusing to get involved, citing other "priorities", Delfino is dismayed. An employee of the Canadian federal government since 2006, she never expected to be treated this way.
