As millions of adults and children across the U.S. beat cancer, they identify as survivors. However, while this victory over cancer can lead to a sense of gratitude, it can also bring with it a range of physical and emotional challenges. In a webchat hosted by abc27.com, Dr. Niraj Gusani, director of the Program for Liver, Pancreas, and Foregut Tumors at Penn State Cancer Institute, explained some of the misconceptions surrounding what it means to be a "survivor" and what life post-cancer can really look like.
Dr. Gusani delves into topics such as proper exercises to do post-cancer, types of emotional support available, and even what a diet should consist of.
