Barbara Selden is a four-year cancer survivor and administrative assistant and medical staff coordinator at Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital in Johnstown. She opens up about the importance of June 5, National Cancer Survivors Day, and a little about her survival story and who helped her through.

In February of 2012, Selden received a call at work with the unfortunate news of her breast cancer diagnosis. Luckily, one of her co-workers recognized her distress and was quick to offer to take her home. Selden remembers how important that act of kindness was to her at the time, and support and generosity like that continued throughout her treatment. She cites her colleagues at work as instrumental to her healing.
