CancerCare - May 2016
CancerCare recently released their "2016 Patient Access & Engagement Report" which provides the perspectives of thousands of Americans diagnosed with cancer. The report shares the results of six surveys focused on cancer patients and survivors' experiences with cancer as well as treatment, communication with their clinical team, financial and insurance issues, quality of life, symptom management, and survivorship.
Though there are many findings related to cancer survivors' work experiences, one survey in particular found that "twenty-five percent of respondents between 25 and 64 stopped working during active treatment, and 13% switched from full-time to part-time. Only one-third continued working full-time after their cancer diagnosis."
