Rebecca Nellis - May 2016
Cancer and Careers Chief Mission Officer, Rebecca Nellis, sits down with the American Institute for Cancer Research to explain the work of CAC and provide tips on how to return to work following a cancer diagnosis.
Nellis points out the importance of flexibility within organizations. She suggests the need to look at policies and procedures through the lens of one experiencing cancer and treatment. The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is an example of a relevant law to be aware of, but encourages organizations to familiarize themselves with other benefits. Nellis also discusses how to best handle co-workers and tips for handing obstacles survivors often face when returning to work.
