Brooke Malyon, 33, is currently undergoing treatment for stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. The strain of coping with cancer treatment and the subsequent financial impact have been laid bare for Malyon and her husband and baby. 

Malyon has fought cancer once before and beaten it so she felt she had an idea of what she was in for, she did not, however, predict the massive financial burden of the illness and the emotional toll on her family. She says the financial costs are overwhelming and hopes her situation can serve as a warning to others. Malyon states, "I wish I had income protection and trauma insurance because I tell you if we did, we wouldn't be in this position."
