Sarah Waddington - April 2016
Sarah Bray, a recovering cancer patient completed the Plymouth Half Marathon, after falling in the first mile and breaking her wrist! Not only did Bray finish the race, but finished with a personal best.
Bray was diagnosed with leukemia and began chemotherapy shortly following her diagnosis. She's been in remission for the past two and half years and decided to take up running. As a general practitioner, she encourages her patients to go out and exercise, so decided to practice what she preaches and booked her place in the Plymouth Half Marathon.
Despite the slip early int he race, Bray refused to give up. Amazingly, she made it through the entire race and only visited the hospital upon completing her best time.
