Nicole Fierro - April 2016
According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 12,770 people in Washington State will die of cancer in 2016, much of that statistic is due to inability to afford the cost of care. A new law is being implemented where patients can donate unused medications to someone fighting the same disease who can't afford them.
People can bring their unused cancer medications to a pharmacy to be re-dispensed to those in need. This could have a tremendous impact on those who simply cannot afford the cost of many medications and so go untreated. The new law will go into effect in early 2017.
