Despite a 25-year history of delivering on and exceeding sales goals, as well as a desire to continue working, Jacci Woodcock was forced out of her job by an unsympathetic employer upon learning of her terminal breast cancer. Woodcock has now decided to devote her time to campaign to change the law to protect employees with terminal diagnoses.
"It never occurred to me that they would not stand by me...I never considered leaving my job. I wanted to work to take my mind off the treatment," Woodcock laments. As a result of this treatment, Woodcock has shared her story publicly through the campaign to change the law, Dying to Work, a movement started two years ago by the Trades Union Congress.
