Circus performer, Dave Evans, knows how to laugh. In fact, he is even able to laugh about his battle with bowel cancer. Doctors discovered a cancerous tumor in his bowel that they were successful in treating with radiotherapy, surgery, and chemo. Now in the clear, Evans is looking at the funny side of it all.

"I'm a firm believer that you can joke about everything if you do it well, and bowel cancer is no exception," he said. Evans notes, his kids think it's hilarious that he has a 'poo bag'.

As a circus performer, he found recovery in bed to be a challenge. Evans says, "for some people, being active and shrugging it off really helps, and that helped for me."
