George Alagiah OBE, who has been the lead presenter of BBC's News at Six since 2007, returned to work after 17 rounds of chemotherapy and 3 major operations to treat advanced bowel cancer. In this article, The Telegraph reports on how Alagiah took time off work for treatment and the challenges he faced managing side effects and returning to work.
“And it was tough the first few weeks. I had to work really hard. But whatever happened, I needed to come back for myself, to get back on the horse.”
