At age 20, Elesha Turner was diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening bone cancer which looked as though it would necessitate amputation of her leg. In a remarkable turn of events, doctors were able to replace almost all of the bones in her leg with titanium.
Despite being heavily scarred and needing the aid of a crutch, Elesha was determined to follow her dream of modelinmg. She began working wiht the charity Models of Diversity and is now working as a disabled model. She is now one of the first disabled fashion models to be represented by a UK Agency. Turner was terrified that she'd need her leg amputated, but with all that's happened she states, "I feel so lucky to be alive, and to be living out one of my dreams".
