Helen Wolt - December 2016
Becky Miller, a 58-year-old cancer survivor didn't allow her personal tragedies to stop her from pursuing her dreams. Miller recently earned an associate of science degree, with a 3.87 GPA, and will be moving on to Florida Atlantic University to pursue sociology next semester.
Despite some personal insecurities regarding her age, following the death of her husband to kidney cancer and then her subsequent stage 3 lung cancer diagnosis, Miller remained positive and went back to school. Her son, Lance Rutkin states, "she never doubted, she is such a strong woman. She was able to ease the burden on me - not just when my father was sick, but when she was sick."
