Meath Chronicle - December 2016
Niamh Gaffney's life was going just as she had planned in 2012 when she welcomed a baby girl and had a successful career in the financial sector. However, much of that changed when she found a lump in her breast and was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Gaffney was given a dose dense chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.
Following a year of invasive and grueling treatment, Gaffney was preparing herself to return to her job from sick leave but she was told her position was no longer needed and was let go. She recognizes that as the moment where she felt the true impact of what cancer had taken from her. However, this was a blessing in disguise as it ended up propelling Gaffney towards a career she felt truly passionate about, helping others. She launched a program for people who are dealing with life altering challenges, including illness.
