STV - November 2016
A recent survey of 1,000 individuals in the UK found that almost one in five people diagnosed with cancer who return to work face discrimination. Many indicated they were made to feel guilty for taking time off for medical appointments and treatment.
The survey also revealed that 85% of people diagnosed with cancer who had a job felt that continuing to work was very important with 60% saying it helped them keep a sense of normality.
