The 2016 election has been long and arduous for many, especially those who have worked for it. Campaign staffers endured separations, missed honeymoons, and some even withstood cancer treatments while continuing to contribute to the campaign. On Hillary's campaign there was not one, but two people working with cancer. Tyrone Gayle was diagnosed in the spring and Jesse Ferguson experienced a recurrence from two years prior. Both have been with the Hillary even before she began her campaign.
Though both aides did not want to discuss their cancer, with Ferguson not even disclosing to his co-workers until recently, both worked throughout their treatments. For the past six months, Ferguson worked from his home with a determination that he would not let his treatment interfere with his ambition of working on a presidential campaign.
Ferguson recently wrote in a blog post, "I've wanted to do this for a long time, now I have the chance, and, damnit, the disease that has plagued me for three years isn't going to (entirely) stop me"
