Molly MacDonald - November 2016
Molly MacDonald was the daughter of a successful entrepreneur and she knew she had it in her DNA. However, she did not know that the catalyst for acting on this entrepreneurial spirit would be a cancer diagnosis.
Having always been a career-driven individual, MacDonald approached work differently than many of her colleagues, with a work ethic that lined up more with an employer rather than employee. When MacDonald recieved her diagnosis, the financial aspect of her life began to crumble. She refers to the "financial toxicity" of cancer hitting her family hard. So MacDonald took it upon herself to tap into her inner entrepreneur. After buying a 'How To' book on starting a non-profit, filing her 501(c)(3) tax status, and getting donations, she was off to a running start on running an organization that helps cancer patients pay their bills.
