Ollie Cowan - November 2016
Terry Foster, 58, was let go from his job because of cancer. After recovering from lymphoma, Foster was told by his bosses that he wouldn't be able to handle the 'stress of the job'.Foster refused to accept this and sued the refrigeration company for unfair dismissal and discrimination.
Foster's boss suggested that by firing him they would be able to reduce his stress. Despite his argument that letting him go would increase his stress, his bosses did not listen. The Foster family struggled greatly during the time he was let go until he was awarded £62,000 for unfair dismissal.
