Many questions arise the moments after learning of a breast cancer diagnosis. One in particular that Cancer and Career is working to address: "Can I keep working?". With breast cancer being the most common invasive cancer in women, supporting those with breast cancer in the workplace should be considered a top priority.
According to a 2014 survey commissioned by Cancer and Careers in partnership with Pfizer, 77% of working women with breast cancer felt that working aided in their recovery. Despite these numbers it has been found that many breast cancer survivors who were working when beginning treatment, were unemployed four years later. Supportive services and programs provided by Cancer and Careers aim to address this issue and more.
