Kathryn May - October 2016
Cancer was a challenge, but one challenge Rosemary Morgan, a federal lawyer, did not anticipate was returning to work and not getting paid for it.Since returning to her job in September, following nine months of treatment for cancer treatment, Morgan has yet to see her pay.
Since she does not have any pay stubs, she is unable to get a line of credit from her bank to hold her over. Due to the lack of pay stubs, she is also unable to get the receipts necessary to cover out of pocket costs since Canada's public servants are a part of the Phoenix pay system.
Morgan laments, "while I will find other alternatives for money in the interim, it is time-consuming, annoying and distressing for someone returning to work from long-term disability."
