Alya B. Honasan - October 2016
Alya Honasan is a breast cancer survivor, who often shares her experience through the nonprofit breast cancer awareness organization she volunteers with, ICanServe. Honasan states that her brush with cancer helped to make her feel more alive than she'd ever been and to learn some important things about herself, and life in general.
Honasan recognizes both the difficulty of her battle and the difficulty of adjusting to the new normal following diagnosis and treatment. She's learned to balance her choices after cancer; matters of quality over quantity, working hard but also knowing when to say no, saving for the future while still allowing oneself to spend on experiences to make you truly happy.
