Elizaveta Bulokhova, 26, a Latvian globetrotting model from Toronto, who as appeared in magazines like Cosmopolitan and Harper's Bazaar, was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma that was consuming her jawbone. 95 percent of her jaw was removed and she also required chemotherapy, but she didn't want to terminate her pregnancy. Her son was born 10 weeks early, just days before she was to finally begin chemotherapy.
In May, a photography friend of Bulokhova's invited her to his studio for her first photoshoot since her diagnosis. She was thrilled to be in front of the camera again, but much remains uncertain about her future.
“I want to find a way to do what I love to do with the way I am,” she says. As she ponders her future, she stays at home caring for Valentin while her partner travels for work.'
