The Providence Journal recently wrote about how "Today" show host Hoda Kotb spoke about her breast cancer experience leading her to her job at the 18th annual Women’s Summit at Bryant University. The article explains:
“'I used to be afraid to ask for something,' Kotb said. 'But after I went through that I thought these four words: 'You can’t scare me.' Shortly after her recovery, Kotb heard NBC was planning a fourth hour of the "Today" show with Kathie Lee Gifford. Kotb walked into the vice president’s office at the network and asked for the job."
