The Kokomo Perspective shared the story of Jami Leslie, a 19-year employee at Kokomo Transmission Plant, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and had incredible support from her employer and coworkers. The article explains Leslie's experience navigating work and treatment:
" 'You name it, and I had to be there,' Leslie said. 'I had to be let off work all the time because whenever the doctors would set up the appointments, I had to be there.' Leslie said she was worried about taking off the time, but she said management was more than flexible and understanding. 'They let me go anytime I needed to be somewhere.
