Cancer Today - March 2015
Cancer Today's Sound Advice column features patient questions answered by experts in a relevant field. Our Chief Mission Officer, Rebecca Nellis, was invited to offer advice on the following question: I was recently diagnosed with cancer, and I plan to continue working through treatment and recovery. What should I tell my employer?
In her response, Nellis expressed the common fears that many people have when making decisions about cancer and work, the information that you need to gather from your healthcare team before talking to your employer, if or how to disclose your diagnosis in the workplace and also touched on some laws that a relevant to working people with cancer.
