Oregon Live recently wrote an article about Dave Anderson, one of Portland's most popular media personalities, who keeps a busy schedule hosting radio shows and doing stand-up comedy, all while battling pancreatic cancer. The article explains:
"Anderson downplays his ability to stay so busy -- and his talent for keeping a sense of humor -- even in the face of cancer. 'I'm a long-term planner,' Anderson says. 'And now I realize that's just ironic and funny.'
What cancer has taught him, he says, is 'you have to live your life as if you don't know how the story ends. When it's a good day, I enjoy the day, and I have the support to have bad days. I feel good today. Monday, I felt like crap. I have to keep reminding myself on days that I feel good, I should be happy. Because there are more of those days.'"
