Florida Today shared an inspiring story about breast cancer patient Katherine McCoy, who isn't going to let her diagnosis and treatment stand in the way of her work as an animal rights activist. The article explains:
"Katherine McCoy is fighting breast cancer, but that doesn't stop the animal rights activist from continuing her crusade for the critters through PURRS, the humane organization she founded to help curb pet overpopulation. Tuesday, Feb. 24, is World Spay Day, which also happens to be the day when McCoy's breast cancer surgery is scheduled, and although McCoy won't be able to be part of the campaign, her heart and soul remain with the animals."
