Jodie Tillman - November 2015
A scholarship named after a Navy veteran and MBA student, Bryan Fazio, has helped 11 students in the two years since it was created. Fazio finished his studies and has been able to distribute the award money to the scholarship recipients himself despite his terminal cancer diagnosis two years later.
After being told in 2013 that he had nine months to live, Fazio not only got his MBA, but also got a second masters degree and has begun law school. "Life had other plans for me," Fazio states. He worked through treatment, weight and hair loss, and decreasing mobility. Fazio even started to complete his assignments from bed. Fazio's mother recalls "school was good for him. It got him around people who weren't sick all the time."
