Senator Breene Harimoto, of Hawaii, has rejoined his colleagues on the Senate floor after his pancreatic cancer diagnosis just four months ago. He underwent surgery, and is currently receiving chemotherapy and moving on to radiation after he's done. As Harimoto returns, he is taking things slow. He intends to work for a few days this week to help prepare for a the start of the regular session in January.
A devoted worker, Harimoto states, "there is never a good time to get sick, but this was a good time during the interim. So, I am sorry for all the work I should have been doing". With that being said, Harimoto is feeling better attributing it to the support of many. "Thanks to everyone's prayers, I am getting much better" he states.
