Kate Day Sager - October 2015
Debbie Moyer, of Bradford, PA is a survivor of breast cancer. Moyer received the diagnosis seven years ago while working as a nurse at an obstetrics and gynecology office. A 45-year old health professional undergoing regular mammograms and check-ups, Moyer was proactive with the disease upon learning her diagnosis.
Moyer states that the support of her husband and daughters helped her through the entire ordeal and they remained her "rocks". Her co-workers had a tough time with the news as well but Moyer was determined to work through it and do her "daily thing". Moyer's message to others with the disease is simple: be positive, involve your family, and, above all, stay busy.
"I felt really good, because there I was in scrubs and going to work everyday. I kept positive because I wanted to get back to normal".
