John Farrell, manager of the Boston Red Sox, has made the decision to go back to work. After his battle with non-Hodgkins Burkitt's lymphoma, including six month's worth of chemotherapy, Farrell has been informed that his cancer is in remission.
"There's a choice you can make to put your tail between your legs and feel sorry for yourself, but it was like, 'you know what? The hell with that", Farrell told reporters in a conference call recently.
Having been cleared to resume his managerial duties for the Red Sox, Farrell is optimistic, stating "It beat me up a little bit physically, but, honestly, right now I'm feeling pretty darn good."
