Despite a cancer diagnosis, a double mastectomy, and the cancer spreading to her lymph nodes, it took a car accident with her daughters in the car for Noelle LeVeaux to realize just how much she wanted to live. She learned to juggle three jobs: marketing executive at the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, single mom of two girls, and manager of her own health.
LeVeaux learned to deal with missing her children's school meetings and events, wearing a mask to work, and reminding co-workers not to touch her. She adapted to giving up some of the roles she had become accustomed to playing: advice giver, caretaker, and social planner. While it was a struggle, LeVeaux notes that family, friends, and coworkers all helped her through her journey.
