Debra Saunders-White, Chancellor at North Carolina Central University, recently disclosed publicly that she is battling kidney cancer. Saunders-White learned of her diagnosis in May but has continued at the helm, focusing on the students and their needs. 

NCCU student, Brittany Tanner, states "She seems like a strong lady to be going through all that and continuing to work here". Students are rallying behind Saunders-White, offering good wishes on social media.
