Associated Press - January 2015
The Washington Post shared the inspiring story of Lexy Quance, a cancer survivor who started her freshman year of college last fall after battling cancer during high school. Now that she is cancer free, school is finally able to be a priority for Lexy. The article covers Quance’s battle with acute myeloid leukemia and how it is still impacting her life:
“Quance didn’t want to be the ‘girl with cancer’ at college. She hoped she wouldn’t have to tell her story to everyone she met, but has learned that the illness is a big part of her past — and her present...People notice how much medicine she takes or the picture of herself, bald, after her four rounds of chemotherapy.” Despite this, Quance is excited to be in college and see how much she can do now versus when she was undergoing treatment.
