Elaine Schattner - January 2015
Forbes contributor Elaine Schattner recently wrote an article about the premier of the winter season of ABC Family's Chasing Life series, a show about a young journalist named April who's been diagnosed with leukemia. In her review, Schattner gives an overview of the plot, why she likes it and which parts more accurately portray a young adult cancer experience than others. The article discusses April's return to work:
"When April returns to report at the Boston Post she meets her slick new boss. You might expect he would express support for the upbeat cancer patient returning to work. Or that he’d reveal doubt of her capability to carry out tough assignments after leukemia treatment. Or say something awkward. But he chooses none of the above: he’s indifferent to her serious medical condition."
