Cancer survivor Kristen Carden wasn't able top get a job after his treatment, reports the Ipswich Star, until an apprenticeship with Realise Futures changed his life. Kristen had to drop out of college when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer that required intense treatment, he recovered, only to be diagnosed with sarcoma two years later. Following his second round of treatment, Kristen wanted more than anything to start rebuilding his life, but couldn't afford to go back to college and wasn't able to find a job. In 2010 he was offered a job through an apprenticeship program at Realise Futures, which completely changed his life. Talking about the experience, Kristen said "'Working here has made me more confident, and given me independence. It has given me an opportunity to prove myself,'"
